It is my pleasure to interview Paulette Harper.
Paulette Harper Johnson, an award winning author, writing coach, and speaker, seeks to inspire women from all walks of life. As an inspirational and motivational speaker, Paulette’s desire is to empower, influence and cultivate women to move forward while dealing with issues that hinder women from becoming all they are created to be. Her topics are biblically sound and pertinent to the needs of today’s women.
Paulette is a wife, mother, grandmother, Bible teacher, radio host, writer and the owner of WNL Virtual Blog Tours. Her years of marketing her own self-published books have created a special talent in her—her ability to sell a product well. Not only does she specialize in marketing strategies, but also serves as the publicist for P.F.L. Publishing.
She has been mentoring and teaching women for years though seminars, workshops and conferences. Paulette Harper Johnson serves in ministry as an Elder with her husband Sr. Pastor Tony E. Johnson at Word of Faith Worship Center in Bradenton and North Port FL.

Ministry Topics
Many women are hurting and unable to break through from depression, pain, and bitterness. Countless women are held in bondage from past hurts. Paulette is no stranger to despair and heartache. In this seminar, Paulette will share about her battle with depression and unforgiveness. Through her story, Paulette shows you how to
- Walk in forgiveness
- Let go of the past
- Embrace the changes of life
Transition to Position: How can I be restored? This is the cry of some across our nations. God’s leading ladies (pastor wives and ministers) have not fully recovered or healed from divorce, death of a spouse, or loss of a ministry. Paulette is no stranger to divorce and the loss of a ministry. In this seminar, Paulette will share her battle with suicide, lack of self-worth, and rejection. Paulette will stir your hearts to pursue purpose in the midst of pain. By embracing the changes of life, Paulette will show you how to
- Remove the Mask: How do I really feel?
- Identify Strongholds: Facing Goliath
- Handle the transition
Matters of the Heart: Is That Really Me, God? Have I put other things on the throne of my heart? Have I gone through so much in life that my heart is now callous, hard, and brittle? Life can be overwhelming, especially when we have been crushed, scared, and broken; and yet some of us pretend like all is well. God has so much more for us if we only allow Him to shine the light of His word in our hearts.
Paulette takes an approach that will offer you help and show you that God is able to exchange the pain for pleasure and sorrow for joy as you experience the God who heals broken hearts. In this seminar, Paulette will show you how to
- Identify those self-destructive areas that hold us back
- Admit where we are
- Embrace the truth, even when it hurts
Paulette can also customize a topic for your specific needs. She is available for seminars, conferences, retreats, and luncheons, and would love to assist you with your next women’s event.

Where were you born and where do you call home?
I was born in Martinez, Calf and raised in a small town called Pittsburg, Ca. I currently live in Central Florida.
What is the name of your most recent book and if you had to sum it up in 30 or less words, what would you say?
Actually I have two books that I’m promoting. My first book is called Completely Whole. Completely Whole is resource filled- guide full of practical and Biblically-based principles, real-life application strategies and prayers to give the readers a holistic approach to living a life of wholeness through Jesus. Christ.
And my second book is actually an Author’s Manual. Write Now Literary Author’s Manual. This manual is your handbook, author’s guide, writer’s workbook, dictionary, how-to book, and instructional tool to help you become all that you desire in the area of writing.
Do you have plans for a new book? Is this book part of a series?
I’m currently working on two new books. My first Christian Fiction called “The Sanctuary” will be released later this year and is book 1 of a Trinity Lakes Series. I’m also working on a young girls book called “Sista Girl: The Value of You”
Are you a self-published (Indie) Author?
Yes. I’m an indie Author. My book Completely Whole was my first self-published work.
What book are you currently reading and in what format (e-book/paperback/hardcover)?
I’m actually reading two books for reviews. Anne’s Truth by Beth Shriver and Against the Gates of Hell by Mylow Young. Both of these books are in paperback.
Do you have any advice for other writers?
Here is a tip from my Write Now Authors Manual
Do I Sell My Book or Sell Its Content?
As an author, I realize that we are excited about selling our books; but the truth of the matter is that we shouldn’t try to sell our books. Rather, we should focus on how our books can help someone else. This was a lesson I learned early in my publishing journey.
People will not buy your book if they don’t believe that what you have written will not help them emotionally, spiritually, practically, or even for enjoyment.
Finding tips or points in your book to highlight will make the difference between a buyer purchasing your book or someone else. List the benefits your book can offer. How can your book help them deal with issues they may be facing? Writers of non-fiction, inspirational books might find this process quite easy; however, writers of fiction might find this process a little more challenging.
The key is to be different. Offer a benefit that is decidedly different than anything that’s out there. This might cause you to have to research books that are similar to what you are writing. Creating a list of “benefits” for your book can aid in the marketing, promoting, and the campaigning in so many ways. First, those benefits can be highlighted and enhanced over and over during interviews. It will help you stay focused on the points you want to convey to the reader and those points can be incorporated in the press release, media kit, and/or tip sheet.
Because the market is so competitive, try to stay ahead of the competition by offering the benefits your book can offer.
Coffee or tea?
When it comes to the hot stuff I’m a coffee drinker.
Your thoughts on receiving book reviews – the good and the bad –
So important to an author to get reviews of books and they are very much needed. It is one of the ways in which authors can get an idea on how readers like or dislike their books. Reviews can create buzz for books therefore, I encourage readers to post reviews on as many social network site as possible.
